Technical systems that may put people, the environment or plants at risk have to be designed so that potential risks are minimised. Due attention also has to be paid to this safety aspect when designing the architecture of a safety instrumented system.

Standards govern everything that has to be taken into account when designing and implementing safety instrumented systems. The implementation of these standards in a concrete application requires knowledge of these standards and a complete command of the relevant safety technology.

The standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 apply for the process industry. BNA staff have been trained as safety engineers and certified by an independent inspection organisation. In addition, BNA is also a PCS7 safety specialist. We are thus able to design and implement safety technology systems for the process industry in compliance with the applicable standards.

BNA also designs and implements safety-instrumented control systems in the field of factory automation according to the applicable directives and standards.
