Wastewater treatment plants are amongst the biggest municipal energy consumers. Efficiency measures are thus particularly worthwhile. Existing ATV logs do not usually support energy optimisation in the sense of the PDCA cycle and a continuous analysis of the energy consumption during the year.

The Wupperverbandsgesellschaft für integrale Wasserwirtschaft - WiW mbH - and BNA have pooled their expertise in a joint product, the TIBS eMonitor. TIBS eMonitor is a tool to optimise the process engineering and energy consumption of wastewater treatment plants. It is anchored in existing databases or collects the necessary data directly from the process. An energy check pursuant to DWA-A 216, the monthly energy report and the aggregate diagnosis are provided as default basic functions. A continuous evaluation and visualisation of the energy consumption situation combined with the ability to derive energy-related aggregate KPI permit the permanent monitoring of the energy efficiency and a check of the success of energy efficiency measures.
